NDSU Hosts 47th Annual Bison Open Saturday in Scheels Center

The North Dakota State University wrestling team is set to host the 47th annual Bison Open starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, in Scheels Center at the Sanford Health Athletic Complex.

Teams expected to send wrestlers to compete at the 47th annual Bison Open are No. 6-ranked Minnesota, No. 16 South Dakota State, Minnesota State-Moorhead, Minot State, Northland Community College and host North Dakota State.

Each match of the 47th annual Bison Open will be streamed live FloWrestling. Live scoring will be provided through TrackWrestling.com … Each NDSU dual this season will be broadcast by BEK Sports and streamed live on GoBison.com/AllAccess.

NDSU 165 Fogarty, 285 Metz Third at Warren Williamson/Daktronics Open
North Dakota State 165-pounder Andrew Fogarty and unattached 285 Brandon Metz each placed third to highlight the NDSU effort on Nov. 5, at the Warren Williamson/Daktronics Open hosted by South Dakota State … Four of the 13 NDSU wrestlers competing placed in the top five overall. Joining Fogarty and Metz were unattached 133-pounder Sawyer Degen, who placed fourth, and unattached 174 Jesse Shearer, who finished fifth.

Streak Stays Alive
With eight North Dakota State wrestlers winning individual Bison Open championships last year– it marked the 10th straight season that at least one NDSU wrestler came away a title. North Dakota State’s 149 Kyle Gliva, 165 Andrew Fogarty, 184 Tyler McNutt and 197 Cordell Eaton have each won twice at the Bison Open, while 141 Taylor Nein claimed his first.

NDSU Receives Votes Toward Top 25
North Dakota State received 24 points toward the USA Today/NWCA Division I Wrestling Coaches poll released Tuesday, Oct. 31 … The Bison are one of including No. 3 Oklahoma State, No. 13 Northern Iowa, No. 16 South Dakota State, No. 19 Oklahoma and receiving votes, Wyoming, West Virginia … Eight opponents on NDSU schedule are ranked in top 25, while three others received votes.
