MANKATO, Minn. — Minnesota State dropped a single spot to 20th in the latest edition of the NCAA DII Wrestling Coaches Association Top 25 Poll.
Since the release of the previous NWCA Top 25 poll, Minnesota State has wrestled to a 3-0 record in duals against Saint John’s, 36-9, Minot State, 25-12, and University of Mary, 23-13.
Corey Abernathy and Matthew Blome remain the two Mavericks that are recognized in the national poll from last months edition. Abernathy is the fifth-rated wrestler at the 184-pound weight class. For Minnesota State this season Abernathy has wrestled to a 10-1 record that includes a 3-0 record in dual matches, three technical fall wins, four major decisions, and a first-place finish at the Buena Vista Open. Blome is 8-2 for the Mavericks this year and is rated fifth nationally at 197 pounds. The Mount Horeb, Wis., native is also 3-0 in duals this season and is 4-0 against division two opponents.
