Vikings’ Ramirez Jr. Takes Sixth at the Midwest Classic

INDIANAPOLIS – Augustana wrestling concluded the Midwest Classic in Indianapolis with one placer at the 35 team event. Senior 149 pounder Oscar Ramirez Jr. took sixth on Sunday.

Ramirez Jr. secured a spot in the semifinals on Saturday but went 0-3 on Sunday to finish in sixth place. Ramirez Jr. fell to Frank Yattoni of Wisconsin-Parkside by a 3-1 decision in the semifinals.

stanalogo Ramirez Jr. fell to Trey Grine of Tiffin in the consolation semifinals and Isaiah Kemper of McKendree in the fifth place match.

The other Viking that was in action on Sunday was Regan Bye who fell to Phillip Springsteen of U-Mary in the consolation quarterfinals.

Midwest Classic Results

The Vikings will have next week off for the Holiday break and will return to action for the Warrior-Viking Open on Dec. 30 in Fremont, Neb. beginning at 9 a.m.
