Apple Valley senior Gable Steveson has been selected as the Minnesota Wrestling Coaches Association’s Mr. Wrestler MN for 2018. Steveson just wrapped up his fourth straight undefeated season with his fourth straight Class AAA State Title. The Eagle wrestler has not lost a high school match since the state finals of his 8th-grade year. That is a span of 173 consecutive wins. He finished his MN prep career with an astonishing record of 212-3.
Outside of MN high school wrestling, Gable Steveson is also a 3-time World Champion at the Cadet and Junior levels. Steveson gives back to the wrestling community as a youth coach for the MN Elite Wrestling Club. Head Coach Josh Barlage also shares that Gable is a member of the AVHS Tazel group for African American men to explore the inner workings of professional business.
Gable Steveson is considered by many to have earned the best resume of any high school wrestler ever. The Minnesota wrestling community is excited to see Mr. Steveson compete for the Minnesota Golden Gophers for the next chapter of his wrestling career.
The MWCA will officially recognize Gable Steveson at the MWCA Dave Bartelma Hall of Fame Banquet in Benson, MN, on Saturday, April 28th.
