SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana head wrestling coach Jason Reitmeier has announced the addition of Taylor Jeffries to the 2018-19 signing class.
Jeffries joins Bailey Brengle (Piedmont, S.D.), Hunter Burnett (Pipestone, Minn.), Luke Dahlen (Zumbrota, Minn.), Samuel Detert (Sioux Falls, S.D.), Jarret Haglund (Zumbro Falls, Minn.) Jack Huffman (Omaha, Neb.), Kolby Kost (Rapid City, S.D.), Jackson Stauffacher (Belle Plaine, Minn.), Michael Suda (Pipestone, Minn.), Jacob Tvinnereim (Jackson, Minn.) and Tyler Wagener (Waconia, Minn.) as members of Augustana wrestling’s 2018-19 signing class.
The first day of the late signing period for collegiate wrestling programs was Wednesday, April 11.
Northwest College: Earned an Associates of Science from Northwest College … two-time NJCAA National Qualifier.
High School: 2016 graduate of Campbell County High School … two-time state and regional champion … posted a career high school record of 115-17 … NHSCA All-American as a junior … two-time Ron Thon champion … helped his team to two state championships and a state runner-up.
Personal: Son of Kent and RaeAnn Jeffries … born in Newcastle, Wyo. on Jan. 28, 1998 … plans to major in Pre-Med.
Reitmeier on Jeffries: “We are excited to announce that Taylor will be joining us next Fall. Taylor will have two years of eligibility left and brings two years of college wrestling experience into the room. He is battle tested in college wrestling and has a leadership quality that will help with all our incoming freshman. He has been successful at every level, winning several state titles and competing at the Junior College National Tournament. Taylor is also an exceptional student who plans on going on to medical school.”
