Richie Hammonds of Anoka has committed to wrestling for Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville, Iowa next season.
Hammonds was the Class AAA 195-pound third-place state finisher this season. He also helped the Anoka Tornadoes to a third-place team finish in 2018 and a runner-up team finish in 2017.
“We are excited to have Richie coming to Iowa Lakes,” said Coach Alesch. “He is a great fit here at Iowa Lakes. We really like the pace and intensity he wrestles with. We believe he has a high ceiling and look forward to what he will bring to Iowa Lakes.”
Hammonds is projected to wrestle at 184 pounds for the Lakers.
