InterMat’s NCAA Division I Rankings – October 16, 2018

MINNEAPOLIS — InterMat has released preseason NCAA Division I wrestling rankings for the 2018-19 season.

Three-time defending NCAA champion Penn State begins the season ranked No. 1 in both the tournament rankings and dual meet rankings. Seven Nittany Lions are ranked in the top four, highlighted by three top-ranked wrestlers, Jason Nolf (157), Vincenzo Joseph (165) and Bo Nickal (197).

Nolf, Joseph and Nickal are among seven returning NCAA champions ranked No. 1 in InterMat’s preseason rankings. Others include Iowa’s Spencer Lee (125), South Dakota State’s Seth Gross (133), Cornell’s Yianni Diakomihalis (141) and Arizona State’s Zahid Valencia (174).
