JAMESTOWN, N.D. – Minnesota State University Moorhead redshirt freshman Mason Schulz took fourth place at the Jimmie Open on Saturday. Freshman Cameron Williams also completed, finishing 2-2 on the day. Both wrestlers competed unattached.
Williams opened his tournament with a win via fall over Hunter Hermanson of Northland Community and Technical College in 1:29 before suffering a loss to Nate Humann of the University of Mary. After picking up a bye, his day ended with a loss to Addisuone Harrington of Concordia.
Schulz opened his day with a decision over Samuel Stuhl and a win via fall over Josh Weisbrod of the University of Mary in 1:10. His first loss of the day was a 4-0 decision against Sawyer Degan before dropping the third-place match to Dulan Droegmueller to take fourth place.
The full Dragon Wrestling team will open their season on Saturday when they compete at the Bison Open in Fargo, N.D. The first home event is Nov. 30 against Northern State University.
