The St. Cloud State University wrestling team (1-0, 0-0 NSIC) received the number one ranking in the latest NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches Association top 25 poll, which was released on Wednesday, Nov. 28.
The Huskies topped the poll with a total of 82 points and nine individually ranked wrestlers. Nebraska Kearney was ranked second with 78 points and Notre Dame (Ohio) had 72 points in third place.
The defending NCAA DII national champions, SCSU has also won seven consecutive NSIC championships since 2012. The Huskies will open their 2018-19 NSIC season with a dual match at Southwest Minnesota State on Nov. 29 in Marshall, Minn.
SCSU’s nationally ranked list continued at 165-pounds with Devin FitzPatrick ranked eighth in the national poll. Returning All-American Kolton Eischens gained a number three rank at 174-pounds and teammate Tyree Overton was ranked 10th at 184-pounds.
Vince Dietz, a runner-up at the NCAA DII championships last year at 197-pounds, received the number one ranking at 197-pounds and Zach Muller was ranked 11th at 285-pounds for the Huskies.

SCSU will complete this week’s wrestling with a trip to the Newberry Duals in Newberry, S.C. on Dec. 2. SCSU will face Queens, Limestone, Newberry and Western Colorado at the tournament. Listed below is the complete NCAA DII poll for Nov. 28.
