Mavericks Remain Sixth in Latest Poll

Mankato, Minn. — The Minnesota State wrestling team is ranked sixth in the NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches Association Top 25 Poll announced today.

A quartet of Maverick individuals are rated in the top ten of their respective individual classes.


Senior George Farmah (St. Paul, Minn.), who placed second in his first national tournament appearance in earning All-America honors last year, is rated #1 at 133. Farmah owns a 2-0 record for 2018-19.

Junior Zach Johnston (174) is ranked fourth, stands 6-1 for the year.

Senior Seth Elwood (165) is rated sixth and owns a 9-5 mark this season.

Sophomore Kyle Rathman (149) is rated eighth and has fashioned a 6-1 mark this year.

NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches Association Top 25 and Individual Rankings

Minnesota State, which stands 2-1 in dual action in 2018-19, opens its home schedule Saturday with Minot State visiting Taylor Center. The match between the Mavericks and the Beavers is slated for a 2:00 p.m. start.
