PELLA, Iowa. – The St. Olaf College wrestling team competed in the Central College Under Armour Invitational on Saturday, placing 15th of 15 teams, at H.S. Kuyper Fieldhouse.
In the 157-pound bracket, junior Bryant Ridgway lost his first match by major decision 9-0 to Kyle Fowler (Morningside). Ridgway then bounced back to beat Neosho County Community College’s Dallas Boone, 7-6, but was defeated by major decision in the consolation semifinals, 12-4, by Central’s Jordan Challen.
On the other side of the 157-pound bracket, first year Adam Bass was pinned by Central’s Colin Groleau and lost by technical fall in his following match to Ben Peters (unattached).
In the 133-pound bracket, junior Luke Wallace lost his first match of the day by fall to Chase Petty of Central by fall at 3:23. After a bye, Wallace was defeated by technical fall by Nicholas Meling of Wartburg in the consolation side.
At 149 pounds, first year Joaquin Montero was pinned in his first match of the day by Central’s Robert Areyano. Montero dropped his following match due to a pin by Joe Eads (unattached).

St. Olaf returns to action Saturday, Jan. 26 as the Oles travel to Collegeville, Minn. to compete in the North Country Open beginning at 9 a.m.
