Coach Eggum Finishes Best Career Regular Season

With the final dual of the season in the rearview mirror, the Gophers have achieved the most successful regular season under head coach Brandon Eggum. This season the Gophers went 14-3 overall with a 7-2 record within the Big Ten, both career highs for the former Gopher grappler.

Throughout the season there were seven duals where the Maroon and Gold’s opposition won two or less bouts. Since taking over the Gophers before the 2016-17 season, Eggum has won 31 duals overall with 16 coming within the conference.

Now, the Gophers enter the postseason on a two dual winning streak looking to cement the season as their best under Eggum by achieving new heights at the final two tournaments. In 2016-17 the program placed 5th at the Big Ten Tournament and 7th at the NCAA Championships.

The Big Ten Championships will be held in Minneapolis at Williams Arena. For tickets please click here.
