EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The St. Olaf College wrestling team concluded its season after finishing 17th on the opening day of the 2019 NCAA Division III Upper Midwest Regional on Friday afternoon at McPhee Center.
Luke Wallace provided St. Olaf’s lone victory of the day at 133 pounds, bouncing back from a first-round loss via tech fall to Noah Becker of Saint John’s with an 8-7 decision over Ramiro Vasquez of Concordia (Wis.). He then dropped his second-round consolation matchup by tech fall to Ethan Harsted of Wheaton (Ill.).
In the 157-pound bracket, Bryant Ridgway lost his main bracket opener to Keone Derain of Elmhurst by tech fall before dropping an 8-6 decision to Sam Rathburn of MSOE in the consolation round.
Shay Collins, Matthew Hallahan, Adam Bass and Partev Galstyan also competed for the Oles, falling by pin in both their matches.
