Rathman Finishes Seventh at National Championships in Earning All-America Honors

Cleveland, Ohio — Minnesota State’s Kyle Rathman posted a seventh-place finish in earning All-America honors at the 2019 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships Saturday.

The Apple Valley, Minn., native, who was making his first appearance at the national championship, dropped a a 4-0 decision to Gavin Londruff of Lindenwood in his first match today. He then picked up a 7-3 victory over Josh Wimer of Finley in the seventh-place match. His record for the two-day national meet was 3-2.

Rathman concluded his second year with the Mavericks with a 19-5 mark and for his college career owns a 41-15 record. Rathman is the 90th individual to earn All-America honors under Minnesota State head coach Jim Makovsky.
