Jackrabbit wrestlers head to U.S. Open

Six South Dakota State University wrestlers are scheduled to compete at this weekend’s 2019 Marine Corps U.S. Open UWW Junior Nationals in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Competing under the banner of the Jackrabbit Wrestling Club in the freestyle portion of the tournament Friday and Saturday at the Las Vegas Convention Center are:

  • Rylee Molitor, 61 kilograms;
  • Zach Price, 61 kilograms;
  • Clay Carlson, 65 kilograms;
  • Dalton Lakmann, 74 kilograms;
  • Kenny O’Neil, 74 kilograms;
  • Tanner Sloan, 97 kilograms.

All SDSU competitors, with the exception of Molitor, redshirted during the 2018-19 season under first-year head coach Damion Hahn.

Coverage of the 2019 Marine Corps U.S. Open will be available through FloWrestling.org (subscription required).

In the Juniors tournament, the top-eight finishers at each weight will earn a spot at the Junior World Team Trials Challenge Tournament in Raleigh, North Carolina, on May 16-18. The 2019 Junior World Championships will be contested in Tallinn, Estonia, in August.
