The 11th Annual Bucky Maughan Golf Scramble Scheduled for Aug. 24 at the Meadows

FARGO, N.D.–The 11th annual Bucky Maughan Golf Scramble hosted by the Bison Wrestling Club and sponsored by 3X Gear is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 24, at the Meadows Golf Course in Moorhead, Minn.

Registration starts at 11 a.m. on Aug. 24 with a 12 p.m. shotgun start for the four-person scramble. A dinner and awards presentation starts at 5 p.m. Awards will be presented for the top team, the longest drive, and the longest putt, along with other various door prizes.

Cost for the Bucky Maughan Golf Scramble is $120 per individual and $480 for a four-person team. The fee includes 18 holes of golf, cart, dinner and a commemorative gift. Dinner-only is $20 per person. There are hole sponsorship options available at $250 (Green Level), $500 (Gold Level) or $1,000 (Platinum Level) for business, group or individual recognition. A National Wrestling Hall of Fame inductee, Maughan led the North Dakota State to four NCAA Division II national championships in 1988, 1998, 2000 and 2001 as well as six national runner-up finishes. During the Division II era, he coached 21 Bison wrestlers to 30 NCAA Division II national championships and had 19 wrestlers compete in the Division I Championships, including six place-winners. Maughan, the winningest coach in NDSU history, finished his 47-year career with a record of 467-157-13. He led the Bison to three undefeated seasons in 1984-85, 1991-92 and 2003-04. A native of Canonsburg, Pa., Maughan was a Pennsylvania state champion during his high school career. He was a two-time NAIA national champion at Minnesota State Moorhead in 1962 and 1963 and also claimed the 1963 NCAA Division I 115-pound championship.
