Steveson takes silver on final day of Medved International

On the final day of competition at the Medved International in Minsk, Belarus, the U.S. netted three more medals. Both Tyler Graff (Titan Mercury WC) and Jordan Wood (Lehigh Valley WC) emerged from their bronze medal matches victorious. Gable Steveson (Minnesota RTC) fell in his finals match to take silver.

At 61 kg, Graff was untouchable in repechage. He bested his opponent from Turkey, 3-0, and followed it up with a 5-0 victory of Egorov of North Macedonia, 5-0 for bronze.

Likewise, Jordan Wood rolled in his bronze medal match at 125 kg, dismantling Belarus’s Lakeyenk, 10-0.

In the 125 kg finals match, Steveson was unable to get much going against Khasanboy Rakhimov of Uzbekistan. A 2018 Junior World bronze medalist and 2019 Senior Asian Championship fifth-place finisher, Rakhimov defeated Steveson, 12-0. Continue reading at www.teamusa.org
