Aaron “Boomer” Widboom was born on October 19, 1978, and passed away on Monday, September 9, 2019, in Duluth, Minn. Widboom, was a Worthington High School class of 1997 graduate who was a member of their 1997 Section 2AAA Team Champions that went on to take 6th in the Class AAA state tournament.
Widboom would also wrestle for Minnesota West Community and Technical College, Worthington while attending there before graduating in 1999.
A graduate of the University of Minnesota, Widboom taught in Korea where he met his wife Charisma (pronounced Sha-Reese). They were married upon returning to the USA. Widboom was the father of two young boys – Dillon age 5 and Logan age 3.
Widboom worked for the TSA in Minnesota as a transportation inspector for 13 years and was in Duluth for work when he passed away from what is initially believed to be a heart attack.
Widboom has been a strong supporter of the different levels of wrestling in Minnesota as a referee with Gold County Wrestling Officials Association for several years. Widboom was a lifelong fan of the Minnesota Gopher wrestling program and high school wrestling in general.
Visitation is from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 15th at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Rosemount, Minn. Funeral at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 16th also at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, with visitation one hour prior. Interment at Lebanon Cemetery. A time of fellowship and celebration of life will take place at First Lutheran Church in Worthington, Minn. on Tuesday, September 17th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family.
