MOORHEAD, Minn. — The 2019-20 season schedule is set for the Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling team. The Dragons open the season on Nov. 9 at the Bison Open in Fargo.
MSUM’s home opener is Dec. 8 when the team hosts the annual Dragon Open. That is the only home competition for MSUM prior to Christmas.
The Dragons will host their first home dual on Jan. 11, 2020 when they host Southwest Minnesota State. That is one of five home duals for the Dragons, which also includes a nonconference home dual on Jan. 23 against crosstown rival Concordia College.
MSUM’s 2019-20 roster includes three past national qualifiers, including junior Cole Jones, who was All-American at 125 pounds last season. Junior Jordan Magnuson (285) was a national qualifier last season while senior Zach Scott, who redshirted in 2018-19, was a national qualifier in 2017-18 at 141 pounds.
Kris Nelson is in his 11th season as the MSUM head coach. He is assisted by Jake Lords, Justin Solberg and Tyler Lehmann.
