MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State wrestling team opened the season with an inter-squad dual on Saturday afternoon in the annual Brown and Gold dual as Brown took a 32-11 victory.
125: Willie Meine with a win by tech fall over Ben Emrich (TF 17-1)
133: Brock Buysse with a win by decision (6-4) over Hunter Pfantz.
141: Jackson Stauffacher with a win by decision (6-4) over Justin Sampson.
149: Robert Shields with a win by medical injury default.
157: Nathan Moore with a win by tech fall (19-3) over Jordan Peterson.
174: Hayden Voxland wins by fall over Kevin Bostwick.
184: Cole Hennen wins by decision (4-3) over Jacob Dykes.
197: Jack Ryan with a win by decision (3-2) over Ben Thompson.
285: Andrew Petersen with a win by decision (4-3) over Neil Hanson.
285: Gage Wevley with a win by fall over German Fitzgerald.
Southwest Minnesota State opens the 2019-20 season on Nov. 9 at the Dakota Wesleyan Open. SMSU will open conference duals on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at St. Cloud State at 7 p.m. in Halenbeck Hall and will have the home opener on Friday. Jan. 10, at 7 p.m. versus Northern State.
