On November 15, Gopher wrestling will host a dual in historic Williams Arena for the first time since February 19, 2016.
Minnesota’s dual against the Rider Broncs comes after the team’s dual last season was canceled to due travel complications caused by snow. The time of the dual has not been set.
The last time the Broncs and Gophers met was February 16, 2018, when the Gophers toppled Rider 32-12 in New Jersey boosted by pins from 141-pound Mitch Mckee and 197-pound Dylan Anderson.
Back in 2016 against the Cyclones in “The Barn,” Minnesota came out on top 30-10 as part of the NWCA National Championship Dual Series.
The Maroon and Gold officially being the season on November 1 at Maturi Pavilion against Cal State Bakersfield. Fans can get their first peek at the 2019-20 squad on October 26 at the team’s open practice.
Last season the Gophers got the chance to wrestle in Williams Arena when the program hosted the Big Ten Championships in the arena on March 9 and 10.
