Bruce Loosbrock (1960-2019)

Long-time Adrian assistant wrestling coach Bruce Loosbrock passed away on Tuesday, October 29th. He was 59 years old.

Bruce Edward Loosbrock was born January 25, 1960, in Slayton, MN to Florian and Mary Ann (Winter) Loosbrock. He passed away at the age of 59 on Tuesday, October 29, 2019. Visitation is from 2-5 pm Sunday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lismore with prayer service at 2 pm. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Monday at the church with viewing one hour prior to the Mass.

Bruce was raised in Lismore and attended Adrian High School. He loved his sports, especially wrestling. He volunteered with the Adrian wrestling program for almost 30 years. Bruce had an undeniable love of giving back to his community. He was involved with the Sons of the American Legion, a member of the Knights of Columbus, a retired member of the Lismore Fire Department, and past president of the parish council. Bruce was a strong believer in Catholic education with volunteering many hours.

In 1992, Bruce bought his father’s business, Loosbrock Digging Service. Bruce was able to transform the incorporation into a top tier underground power solutions company. Over the years, Bruce used his company to not only provide excavating services but often used it as an opportunity to instruct. To his very last day on the job site, he instilled the virtues of a good man, honesty, fidelity, courage, and generosity to all his employees.

Bruce married his bride, Brenda Anderson on June 18, 1983. They celebrated 36 years of marriage and welcomed 7 children to the world. Both enjoyed camping with stories around the campfire. They traveled together to celebrate with family, which included many nights of music and dancing.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Brenda; his children Wade (Laci) Loosbrock of Mandan, ND, Amber (Celestine) Ezeani of Attleboro, MA, Calvin Loosbrock of Sioux Falls, SD, Mary Jean (Anthony) DiGiovanni of Lismore, MN, Stephen (Bethany) Loosbrock of Lenexa, KS. Nichole (Austin) Quebedeaux of Des Moines, IA and Shelly Loosbrock of Lismore, MN. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, his mother Mary Ann of Lismore; brothers Patrick (Teri), Neal (Debbie); sisters Rosanne (Mike) Sloan, Kay (Randy) Wolf, and Nancy (Earl) Wolf; mother-in-law Lucille Anderson; brother-in-law Tony (Kathy) Anderson; sisters-in-law Veronica (Chan) Masselink and Shirley (Rick) Gunther.

He is preceded in death by his father Florian Loosbrock, father-in-law Curtis Anderson and two grandbabies Emiliani and John. Adrian Funeral Home is assisting the family.
