Vikings’ Carroll Captures Title in Nebraska

KEARNEY, Neb. — Redshirt junior Brandon Carroll captured the 133-pound championship at the UNK Younes Hospitality Open on Saturday afternoon in Kearney, Nebraska.

Carroll went 4-0 while recording a fall and a major decision. The Sioux Falls, South Dakota, native won the championship bout by way of fall at 5:00.

Redshirt freshmen Hunter Burnett and Jack Huffman both took home second place titles at 141 and 133 pounds, respectively. Burnett went 4-1 on the day and recorded a major decision. Huffman went 3-1 and recorded a major decision as well.

Redshirt junior Taylor Jeffries (133 pounds) and redshirt freshman Jacob Tvinnereim (157 pounds) placed fourth and sixth, respectively, for the Vikings. Jeffries went 4-2 on the day and Tvinnereim went 4-3 on the day.
