Dragons’ Schulz Finishes 7th at Midwest Classic

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Minnesota State University Moorhead sophomore Mason Schulz finished seventh at the Midwest Classic which concluded on Sunday in Indianapolis, Ind.

Schulz finished seventh at 141 and went 4-2 on the weekend. During Sunday’s action, he pinned Seton Hill’s Joel Cawoski in 4:37 before losing to Wisconsin-Parkside’s Pernevlon Sheppard 12-1. In the seventh-place match, Schulz beat Central Oklahoma’s Nate Keim by medical forfeit. Schulz is now 15-8 on the season.

Sophomore Evan Foster lost his only match on Sunday, dropping a 10-4 decision to Western Colorado’s James Laconte at 174. He is now 13-8 on the year.

Junior Jordan Magnuson also lost his only match on Sunday at 285, losing to Coker’s Ramon Correa by a 6-1 decision.

2019 Midwest Classic Results

MSUM is off until Jan. 4 when it competes at Wisconsin-Parkside for a dual match.
