Vikings Dominate MSU Moorhead For Fifth-Straight Victory
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Augustana wrestling team dominated the MSU Moorhead Dragons 33-6 Sunday afternoon en route to its fifth-consecutive dual victory. The Vikings are now 5-2 on the season and 2-0 in NSIC duals.
Junior Ethan Cota started the Vikings off with a 16-0 tech fall victory at 125 pounds. Redshirt freshman Jack Huffman followed suit with a quick 18-3 tech fall of his own at 133 pounds to give the Vikings a 10-0 lead.
At 141 pounds, redshirt freshman and No. 11 ranked Hunter Burnett recorded four near-fall points late in the third period to earn a major decision and give the Vikings a 14-0 lead. Junior Jebben Keyes followed Burnett by pinning his opponent in the 149-pound bout, after being down 10-4. Keyes victory put Augustana up 20-0.
Redshirt freshman Jacob Tvinnereim followed with a 7-5 win at 157 pounds before sophomore Dylan Schuck recorded a takedown just seven seconds into overtime in the 165-pound bout to balloon Augustana’s advantage to 26-0.
At 174 pounds, junior and No. 8 ranked Ben Kelvington recorded a 9-4 win. Redshirt freshman Kolby Kost recorded the last win of the day for the Vikings at 184 pounds with a 16-5 major decision.
Overall, the Vikings won eight of their 10 bouts on the day and recorded two tech falls, two major decisions and one fall.

The Dragons will host crosstown rival Concordia for a non-conference dual on Thursday at 7 p.m. The Vikings host the Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs on Friday, Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. in the Elmen Center.
