MOORHEAD, Minn.—The Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling team is set to host crosstown foe Concordia for a dual on Thursday, Jan. 23 starting at 7 p.m. The Dragons will then travel to face No. 8 Upper Iowa at 2 p.m. on Sunday in Fayette, Iowa.
MSUM is 0-4 overall in duals this season. The Dragons are coming off a 33-6 loss at home against Augustana (S.D.) last weekend. MSUM grabbed two wins on the day.
Junior Logan Rhode took down Augustana’s Daniel Bishop in an 8-5 decision. Rhode is 1-2 on the year at 197. Junior Jordan Magnuson took home a 9-2 decision over Steven Hajas. Magnuson is 6-3 at 285 on the year and has won three matches in a row.
Sophomore Mason Schulz is 15-11 overall at 141. Sophomore Evan Foster is 15-9 overall at 174 while senior Zach Scott is 14-10 at 49. Sophomore Justin Dravis is 8-6 at 165 for the Dragons.
Kris Nelson is in his 11th season as head coach of the Dragons.
Concordia is 5-3 in duals this season. The Cobbers lost their last dual, falling to the University of Dubuque 28-15. Their largest win of the season came against Nebraska Wesleyan, where they won 55-0. Sophomore Jacob Prunty is 13-3 overall this season at 133. Junior Cole Kubesh is 14-7 overall at 125, and freshman Cade Lundeen is 12-7 overall at 141.

No. 8 ranked Upper Iowa is 11-2 overall and 4-0 in the NSIC. The Peacocks are coming off of a 22-13 win over Northern State on Jan. 17. Justin Folley is ranked fourth in the nation at 133 and is 23-1 on the year. Nick Baumler is ranked No. 1 in the nation at 197 with a record of 23-2 while Dalton Hahn is ranked 10th in the nation at 184 with a record of 20-5. Triston Westerlund is ranked No. 12 in the nation and is 18-5 at 285. Heath Grimm is in his 20th season as the Upper Iowa head coach.
