#1 St. Cloud State wrestling completes regular season vs. Augustana

The #1 St. Cloud State University wrestling team (15-0, 7-0 NSIC) will complete its 2019-20 regular season on Wednesday, Feb. 19 with a home match against NSIC rival Augustana University (10-3, 6-1 NSIC). The match at SCSU’s Halenbeck Hall is slated for 7:00 p.m. and tickets are available at the gate on the night of the match. All SCSU students get in FREE to this match.

The evening will also include a salute to the 2019-20 SCSU seniors. This group of three seniors includes Kolton Eischens (Pierz, Minn.), Tyree Overton (Rock Island, Ill.) and James Pleski (Stacy, Minn.).

This trio has helped the Huskies win NCAA DII team titles in 2018 and 2019 along with NSIC championships in 2017, 2018 and 2019. The Huskies have gone 71-1 over the past four seasons, which includes an undefeated record in NSIC competition. Eischens is a two-time All-American at 174-pounds and Pleski has earned three All-America awards at 149-pounds.

The Huskies will have a chance to clinch the NSIC title outright with a win over Augustana tonight in Halenbeck. SCSU has not lost an NSIC dual match since an 18-13 setback against the Vikings n Jan. 27, 2011. Since then, SCSU has won NSIC titles in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. SCSU has already clinched at least a share of the 2020 NSIC regular-season title.

At SCSU, Pleski has charted a 101-18 career record at 149-pounds. Eischens is 70-12 in three seasons with the Huskies at 174-pounds and Overton is 28-11 during his two seasons with SCSU. Both Overton and Eischens are transfer student-athletes for the Huskies.
