Ridgway records two pins at Don Parker Open

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – Senior Bryant Ridgway recorded a pair of pins in the Gold 157 bracket as five members of the St. Olaf College wrestling team competed at the Don Parker Open on Saturday on the campus of UW-Eau Claire.

Ridgway pinned Cam Kelly at 4:00 in the preliminary round and, after dropping a major decision to UW-La Crosse’s Nolan Hertel, pinned Luther’s Benjamin Mennenga at 6:47 in the first round of the consolation bracket. He ended his day with a major decision loss to Noah Parish of Rochester Community and Technical College.

Senior Luke Wallace, sophomore Jack Ridgway, first-year Hadim Kon and first-year Kris Kurtz also wrestled at the tournament for the Oles, dropping their two matches on the day outside of a win by forfeit for Ridgway in the Gold 149 bracket.

St. Olaf hosts Saint John’s in a dual on Thursday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. at Skoglund Center in the team’s final tune-up before the NCAA Division III Upper Midwest Regional.
