Seven Oles conclude season at NCAA Upper Midwest Regional

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – First year Kris Kurtz picked up the lone victory of the day in the 184-pound bracket as seven members of the St. Olaf College wrestling team competed at the NCAA Division III Upper Midwest Regional on Friday at Augsburg University’s Si Melby Hall.

After being pinned in his opening-round match, Kurtz responded by winning a 6-3 decision over Romeo Hernandez of Pacific in the first round of the consolation draw. The first year then saw his day end by fall against Isaac Odell of Wheaton (Ill.)

Of the other six Oles to compete, four came up against nationally-ranked opponents in the opening round.
