Trey Kruse of Stillwater Area has committed to wrestling for Purdue University in 2020-21.
Kruse is a three-time state placewinner. He won the Class AAA 145-pound title in 2020. He placed fourth at 138 pounds as a junior and fourth at 132 pounds as a sophomore. Kruse was a state qualifier as a freshman and eigth-grader. He completed his high school career with a 234-53 record (school record), including 150 pins.
Kruse was champion at the Minnesota Christmas Tournament in 2019 and champion at the Bi-State Classic in 2019 earning Tournament MVP honors. He was also named to the MSHSL Class AAA State Duals All-Tournament Team in 2020.
Kruse was named First Team Academic All-State in 2019 by The Guillotine and was a 2020 MWCA Scholarship winner.
Kruse is projected to wrestle at 149 pounds for the Boilermakers.
