Canon Swanson of Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa has committed to wrestling for North Dakota State University next season.
Swanson is a five-time state placewinner. He was the Class A 145-pound third-place finisher this season. He was runner-up at 126 pounds as a junior and at 120 pounds as a sophomore. As a freshman, Swanson placed fifth at 113 pounds. He was sixth at 106 pounds as an eighth-grader. Swanson finished his high school career with a 225-29 record, including 112 pins.
Swanson is projected to wrestle at 149 pounds for the Bison.
