This past season the Rochester Community and Technical College Yellowjackets had a banner year on the mat winning their 8th straight MCAC Title and 3rd Non-Scholarship NJCAA National Championship. Not only did the Jackets get it done on the mat, but equally impressive is their aptitude for success in the classroom.
Five freshmen Yellowjackets were named to 2019-2020 NWCA NJCAA Scholar All-American team. This group included NJCAA National Qualifiers Brandon Kidd, Jr. (149, Shakopee, MN) and Francis Fuenffinger (125, Hibbing, MN). It also included NJCAA All-Americans Parker Dobrocky (133, Anoka, MN), Seth Brossard (165, Kenyon, MN) and Gavin Christoffersen (184, So. St. Paul, MN). This season the team had a combined cumulative GPA of 3.25.
“Academics have always been a major focus for our athletes. Our coaches Travis Rutt, Carson Henry, and I work with the faculty and tutors to make sure these guys have the best opportunity when they leave Rochester,” noted coach Randy Rager.
