Blake West of Shakopee has committed to wrestling for Northern Illinois University following his upcoming senior season.
West is a two-time state placewinner. He won the Class AAA 113-pound title in 2020 as a junior. He placed fifth at 106 pounds as a freshman while competing for Owatonna.
West was a USA Wrestling Junior Freestyle finalist in 2019 and is No. 13 on The Guillotine’s latest Pound-For-Pound Class of 2021 Rankings.
West is projected to wrestle at 125 pounds for the Huskies.
