Heading into his second season he is looking to help his first wave of recruits find success on and off the mat. All of his upperclassmen that are returning have had offers to continue wrestling after their time with Itasca is done.
According to Coach Popp, “Coach Umlauf is always bringing a positive upbeat atmosphere to the room. He brings the Division I intensity to a room, but develops a culture and atmosphere of learning, growth, and development of the individual athletes as wrestlers, students, and in life.”
