MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling team will compete at the NCAA Super Region Five Championship, which will be held this Saturday (Feb. 27) at Wachs Arena in Aberdeen, S.D.
Competition begins at noon on Saturday and will feature a rolling schedule with no session breaks.
In addition to MSUM, teams competing include Augustana, UMary, Minot State, Minnesota State-Mankato, Northern State, Wisconsin-Parkside, St. Cloud State, Upper Iowa and Southwest Minnesota State.
The top two placers in each weight division advance to nationals; and in addition five third-place finishers will also qualify. Those five will be determined by a vote of the 10 coaches at the meet.
MSUM has not competed since Feb. 11 when it lost 33-6 at Augustana.
The Dragons will have two previous national qualifiers competing on Saturday. That includes junior Cole Jones, who was All-American at 125 pounds in 2018-19, and junior Braydon Ortloff qualified at 165 in 2019-20 (national meet was cancelled because of COVID-19).
