Mavericks Post 5-1 Regular-Season Mark for 2020-21
Mankato, Minn. — Minnesota State enters the 2020-21 postseason rated 11th in the National Wrestling Coaches Association Poll announced Friday, Feb. 19.
The Mavericks, who finished the regular season with a 5-1 mark in dual action, were tied for 10th in the last NWCA poll.
Minnesota State has three individuals who are rated in the top ten individual rankings.
Senior Kyle Rathman (149 lbs.), a two-time All-American, stands 6-0 on the season and is rated second for the third consecutive poll.
Junior Trevor Turriff (174 lbs.), who stands 6-0 for 2020-21, is rated #2 for the second consecutive poll.
Senior Trenton McManus (125 lbs.) stands 5-1 on the year and is rated eighth for the second consecutive time.
NWCA NCAA DII Rankings – February 19, 2021
Now in his 32nd season of college coaching, Jim Makovsky owns an overall record of 317-140-4 and in 28 years in the Key City has guided the Mavericks to a 294-121-3 mark.
The Mavericks travel to Aberdeen, S.D., for the 2021 NCAA DII Super Region V tournament which is scheduled for Feb. 27th.
