MANHEIM, Pa. — Four members of the Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling team have earned Scholar All-American honors from the National Wrestling Coaches Association, it was announced on Monday.
In order for a student-athlete to be nominated to the Division II Scholar All-American Team, he must have a minimum 3.4 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale, with that benchmark at 3.25 for those who qualified for the 2020 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships. Due to the impact of COVID-19 on the season, the dates of competition stipulation was removed from this year’s qualifications.
Senior Ryan Stenson, junior Andre Baguma, sophomore Jaden Oestern and freshman Hunter Hayes represented MSUM on the Scholar All-American Team. Stenson and Oestern earned the honor for a second straight year.
