Katerina “Katie” Lange of Martin County West High School has been awarded the Ms. Minnesota – Wrestling Award as the top senior female high school wrestler in the state.

Katie recently won her first MN Girls High School State Championship and has been ‘All In’ since coming back to the sport full time. She spent her childhood competing for Team Minnesota before taking some time off to explore other sports. Katie lettered in cross country as well as basketball. This fall, when Katie recommitted to the sport of wrestling, she wasted no time in reestablishing her position by earning a spot in the finals at the Junior Nationals in Omaha, NE. On her way to the runner-up placing, she beat a handful of highly decorated age group and college age wrestlers.
Katie carries a 4.00 GPA and is ranked first in her senior class. She is the recipient of the coveted AAA Award as well as holding the position of class president. Katie is also a member of the National Honor Society. She looks forward to wrestling in college and expects to make her college announcement very soon.
Recipients of the Ms. Minnesota – Wrestling Award receive a certificate to commemorate the achievement along with a small scholarship.
