Minnesota State Individual Awards Announced for 2020-21

Mankato, Minn. — In taking a look back at the 2020-21 season for the Minnesota State wrestling program, the highlights were myriad.

After posting a 5-1 mark in dual action and earning a third-place finish at the NCAA Division II Region V tournament where Trenton McManus, Kyle Rathman, and Trevor Turriff claimed titles, the Mavericks finished tenth at the NCAA Division II Wrestling national tournament with the regional individual champions all gaining All-America honors. Turriff placed second at nationals, while Rathman placed seventh and McManus was eighth.

Minnesota State was also solid off the mat with seven NSIC Winter All-Academic Team members (David Griffet, Trevor Turriff, Bridger Kraye, Cole Gille, Anthony Heng, Cooper Siebrecht, Kyle Rathman) and 17 National Wrestling Coaches Scholar All-Americans (Dylan Anderson, Jerez Autridge, Kyle Cavanaugh, Tanner Cook, Shane Gibson, Cole Gille, David Griffet, Anthony Heng, Bridger Kraye, Kadyn Kraye, Trenton McManus, Brody Nielsen, Josh Piechowski, Kyle Rathman, Max Schwabe, Cooper Siebrecht, Trevor Turriff).

The Mavericks announced its individual award recipients for the 2020-21 campaign.

Most Valuable:
Trevor Turriff, Junior, De Pere, Wis.
