College Recruiting: state champion Buesgens to North Carolina State University

Koy Buesgens of New Prague has made a verbal commitment to wrestle for North Carolina State University in 2023.

Buesgens is a two-time state placewinner winning the Class AAA 126-pound title in 2021 as a sophomore. He placed third at 106 pounds as a freshman.

Buesgens was a USA Wrestling Greco All-American in Fargo this past summer placing sixth. Most recently he was runner-up at the prestigious Super 32 Tournament.

Buesgens is No. 5 on The Guillotine’s latest Pound-For-Pound Class of 2023 Rankings.

He is projected to wrestle at 141 or 149 pounds for the Wolfpack.
