Dragon Wrestlers Ready for Midwest Classic

MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling team will travel to Indianapolis, Ind., to compete at the Midwest Classic this weekend. The Midwest Classic will take place on Saturday and Sunday.

A total of 30 teams will compete at the Midwest Classic.

This will be the Dragons’ first competition since a 41-0 loss to the University of Mary on Dec. 9.

The Dragons are 0-2 in duals on the season and 0-1 the NSIC after their loss to UMary.

Freshman Declan Malone is 6-2 at 149 for MSUM while sophomore Samuel Grove is 5-5 at 285. Senior Justin Dravis is 3-3 at 174 while senior Braydon Ortloff is 2-2 at 165. Sophomore Hunter Hayes is 3-2 at 141 for MSUM.

Kris Nelson is in his 13th year as head coach at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
