MINNEAPOLIS — The Augsburg University women’s wrestling team will be hosting a triangular meet against nationally-ranked NAIA schools Iowa Wesleyan University and the University of Jamestown (N.D.) on Saturday (1/29) at 12 p.m. at Si Melby Hall, with free admission offered to youth (middle school) and high school-aged girls’ wrestlers.

Iowa Wesleyan is ranked No. 19, and Jamestown is ranked No. 8, in the latest NAIA women’s wrestling national poll.
“When I was in middle school, I would go to (University of Minnesota) Gopher matches and think, ‘That’s what I want to do when I get older’,” said Augsburg head coach Jake Short. “With all of the growth that you see happening with women’s wrestling, We want that same opportunity for the young women around the state of Minnesota. The Augsburg women’s wrestling team is the staple of women’s wrestling in Minnesota, and this team will be who those young women look up to.”
In accordance with current Augsburg University and city of Minneapolis policies, all spectators must wear masks and follow other COVID-related rules (click here for spectator policy).
