Augustana Ranked No. 10 In Latest NWCA Rankings

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.– Augustana wrestling is ranked at No. 10 in the latest Division II NWCA Wrestling Rankings. The Vikings were previously ranked at 10 in the Dec. 31 release. Five Vikings hold individual rankings in the national poll.

The Vikings competed in two duals since the start of the New Year. On January 13, Augustana traveled to Aberdeen, S.D., defeating No. 21 Northern State with a team score of 23-12. The Vikings returned to the Elmen Center on January 15 to defeat No. 25 Southwest Minnesota State.

Jaxson Rohman, competing at 125 pounds, holds a spot at No. 4 in the latest individual rankings. Rohman defeated opponents from Northern State and Southwest Minnesota State in January to move up one spot in the rankings. In the central region rankings, Rohman is ranked at No. 2.

Jack Huffman is ranked at No. 6. Huffman’s two victories over Northern State and Southwest Minnesota State opponents. Previously ranked at No. 7 at 133 pounds, Huffman moves up one spot in the rankings. Huffman is also regionally ranked at No. 3.

In the seventh spot at 174 pounds is Cade Mueller. Mueller holds an overall record of 12-2 and recorded a win against a Northern State opponent. Mueller is regionally ranked at four.

Kolby Kost, competing at 184 pounds, comes in at the 12th spot in the national rankings. Kost logged a win over a Northern State opponent and holds a 15-6 overall record. Kost’s regional ranking sees him in the fourth spot.

Steven Hajas is ranked at No. 8 at 285 pounds. Hajas defeated Northern State and Southwest Minnesota State opponents in January. He also holds the second spot in the central region rankings.

Five wrestlers are regionally ranked for Augustana with No. 4 Brandon Carroll at 141 pounds, No. 5 Keaten Schorr at 149 pounds, No. 5 Tyler Wagener at 157 pounds, No. 4 Miles Fitzgerald at 165 pounds, and No. 5 Daniel Bishop at 197 pounds.


Augustana returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 29 in Moorhead, Minnesota, for a bout with MSU Moorhead. The Vikings host UW-Parkside on Feb. 12 at the Elmen Center.
