COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Concordia-Moorhead handed Saint John’s wrestling a 47-0 loss on Saturday night, Jan. 22, in Collegeville.
The Johnnies forfeited four weights and neither team had a wrestler at 125 pounds.
Sophomore Aaron Voigt (St. Augusta, Minn./St. Cloud Tech) wrestled the most competitive match of the dual in a close 3-1 loss to the Cobbers’ Chase Dockter at heavyweight. Dockter scored a takedown with 34 seconds remaining in the bout.
A pair of freshmen, Levi Henry (Foley, Minn.) and Nate Langer (St. Paul, Minn./Eastview), earned wins in exhibition matches. Henry registered a 7-3 victory and Langer tallied a first-period pin.
The Johnnies host the North Country Open at 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, in Sexton Arena.
No spectators will be allowed to attend Sunday’s tournament. This decision is due to the number of teams, competitors, coaches and administrators that will be in attendance in the venue.
