No. 2 St. Cloud State takes second at NWCA National Duals

NCAA record-setting win streak stands alone at 77

LOUISVILLE, KY – No. 2 St. Cloud State Wrestling defeated No. 5 Nebraska-Kearny 19-14 in the NWCA Multi-Division National Dual Semifinal then fell to No. 1 Central Oklahoma by the same score in the Final, taking second place at the prestigious event. The win over UNK extended the Huskies’ dual win streak to 77, standing alone as the longest-ever winning streak across all divisions of NCAA Wrestling. With their second-place finish, the Huskies have landed top-two every year since 2016 and have earned a top-three spot each year dating back to 2011. No. 2 Noah Ryan (197) and Kameron Teacher (HWT) won both their matches on Friday to go 4-0 at the National Duals, while No. 1 Joseph Bianchini (141) likewise went 2-0 Friday for an undefeated trip to the Duals.

Spotlight Performances
Heavyweight Kameron Teacher, 141-pounder Joseph Bianchini, 174-pounder Dominic Murphy and 197-pounder Noah Ryan combined to go 8-0 with two bonus-point wins. Anthony Herrera picked up a 3-1 win over All-American Jacob Wasser (Nebraska-Kearney) and fell by just a point to No. 3 Ty Lucas (Central Oklahoma) at 157. No. 11 Paxton Creese earned a signature win at 125 with a 5-3 decision over No. 6 Josh Portillo (Nebraska-Kearney).
