SIOUX FALLS, S.D.–Tyler Wagener, of Waconia, Minnesota, earned NSIC Wrestler of the Week honors after a weekend that saw two major decision victories for Wagener.
In No. 10 Augustana’s win against No. 21 Northern State, Wagener earned a major decision victory after recording two takedowns, a two-point nearfall, a reversal and two penalty points. The final score of the major decision win was 11-0.
On Saturday, Wagener recorded two four-point near falls and three takedowns in an 18-5 major decision win against Lucas Hodges of No. 25 Southwest Minnesota State to earn his 12th win of the season.
Augustana travels to Moorhead, Minnesota, on January 29th for a conference dual against MSU Moorhead.
