Cloud State begins road trip with dual at SMSU

St. Cloud, Minn. – No. 2 St. Cloud State Wrestling begins a two-match road trip on Thursday evening with a dual at No. 21 Southwest Minnesota State. The dual will begin at 7:00 p.m. CT in Marshall, Minnesota at the PE Gym.

The Huskies dominated Upper Iowa last week 34-2 at Halenbeck Hall, winning nine of ten bouts with four bonus-point wins. St. Cloud State currently has nine wrestlers ranked by the NWCA, while SMSU has one – returning All-American 184-pounder Caden Steffen. SCSU last faced the Mustangs in November of 2019, steamrolling SMSU 42-0 in their 2019-20 NSIC opener with six bonus-point wins. Devin FitzPatrick, Robby Horsman and Kolton Eischens each recorded pins while Garrett Aldrich, Garrett Vos and Noah Ryan added major decisions.
