Minnesota State Enters 2022 Postseason Rated 14th

Mankato, Minn. — In the final NCAA Division II Coaches Rankings prior to the postseason, Minnesota State is rated 14th in the National Wrestling Coaches Association Poll announced Friday, Feb. 18.

The Mavericks, who completed the 2021-22 regular season with a 2-6 mark in dual action, have three individuals who are rated in the top 10 individual rankings.

Senior Kyle Rathman (149 lbs.), a three-time All-American who stands 4-1 on the season, owns a 73-22 career mark, is rated seventh.

Senior Trevor Turriff (174 lbs.), who stands 15-2 on the season and 57-16 for his career, also finished second at last year’s NCAA DII national championships, is rated third.

Junior Darrell Mason (285 lbs.), who stands 14-0 on the season, is rated eighth.

Next action for Minnesota State is Feb. 26 when the Mavericks compete at the NCAA Division II Super Regional at Moorhead, Minn.
