SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Augustana wrestling heads to Moorhead, Minnesota, on Saturday to compete in the NCAA Super Region V tournament. The event begins at 10 a.m.

Augustana competed in 12 duals this season, 10 against NCAA Division II competition, and totaled nine against conference teams. The conference opponents make up Super Region V. The Vikings held a record of 8-1 in NSIC dual-action, placing second in the conference and toppling six nationally-ranked teams in the process. The ten teams, including the Vikings, are Northern State, Minot State, UMary, Southwest Minnesota State, St. Cloud State, Minnesota State, MSU Moorhead, Wisconsin-Parkside, and Upper Iowa.
The Vikings
Jaxson Rohman – 125 pounds
Rohman is 8-4 in dual action and has logged 53 takedowns throughout the season. The true freshman has recorded two falls and three major decisions with wins over several ranked opponents this season. He enters as the No. 4 ranked regional wrestler.
Jack Huffman – 133 pounds
Huffman, nationally ranked at No. 5, earned Second Team All-NSIC honors and holds a record of 14-1. He competed at 141 pounds in last year’s regional tournament, going 3-2 and placing fourth. Huffman has logged five falls, one tech fall, and two major decisions in 2021-22. He enters as the No. 3 ranked regional wrestler.
Keaten Schorr – 141 pounds
Schorr is 5-5 this season and has recorded two falls. Schorr returns to the regional tournament after sixth-place finishes in 2018-19 and 2017-18.
Hunter Burnett – 149 pounds
Burnett garnered Second Team All-NSIC honors in 2021-22 and holds an overall record of 7-2 with a 5-0 dual record. He has recorded three major decisions this season. Burnett was an NWCA All-American national qualifier at 141 pounds in the 2019-20 season and enters this year’s regional ranked No. 5 in the region.
Tyler Wagener – 157 pounds
Wagener holds a record of 13-7 this season with a dual record of 5-6. He has logged five falls and four major decisions this year. Wagener went 1-2 at last year’s regional tournament. He is ranked No. 6 in the region.
Miles Fitzgerald – 165 pounds
Fitzgerald will be making his regional debut in Moorhead. The redshirt-freshman garnered Second Team All-Conference honors this season and has totaled a record of 18-4. Fitzgerald logged three falls, three tech falls, and one major decision in 2021-22. He enters the regional with a No. 3 ranking in the latest regional rankings.
Cade Mueller – 174 pounds
Mueller, named to the First Team All-NSIC team this year, is nationally ranked at No. 2. Mueller went 15-3 overall in 2021-22 and holds a record of 8-2 in dual action. He went 4-1 at the Super Region V tournament last season, taking third place for Augustana. He is the regional favorite, holding a No. 1 ranking in the region along with his No. 2 national ranking.
Kolby Kost – 184 pounds
Kost has logged a 17-8 overall record this season with nine falls and four major decisions. Placing fourth at last year’s Super Region V tournament, Kost went 3-2 with two major decision victories. He is ranked No. 4 entering this year’s regional.
Daniel Bishop – 197 pounds
Bishop is nationally ranked at No. 8 for Augustana and earned Second Team All-NSIC honors this season. The senior holds a record of 17-6 overall and 6-5 in duals. Bishop went 1-2 at last year’s Super Region V tournament. He holds a No. 2 regional ranking.
Steven Hajas – 285 pounds
Hajas sees an overall record of 14-5 this season with three falls, two tech falls, and two major decisions. He went 3-1 at last year’s regional tournament placing second and representing Augustana at the 2021 NCAA national tournament. The NCAA Division II consolation champion in 2021 holds a No. 4 regional ranking.
One Last Thing
The top three finishers in each weight class will qualify for the NCAA DII Championships in St. Louis, Missouri. The Championships are set to take place March 11-12.
