Vikings Host Parkside for Parents Night

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — No. 10 Augustana wrestling hosts No. 8 UW-Parkside this Saturday at the Elmen Center for Parents Night. The dual will begin at 4 p.m.

The Rangers
Parkside is nationally ranked at No. 8. The Rangers have four nationally-ranked wrestlers on their roster. At 125 pounds, Joe Arroyo is ranked at No. 3 for UW-Parkside. Shane Gantz is also ranked at No. 3 for the Rangers at 165 pounds. Job Ayala is ranked at No. 6 at 174 pounds. Rounding out the national rankings for Parkside is Rodsean Graham, ranked No. 9 at 197 pounds.

The Rangers hold an overall record of 4-2 and a record of 4-1 in the NSIC. Their only team loss is against No. 2 St. Cloud State by a score of 3-37.

The Vikings
No. 10 Augustana enters the Saturday matchup after two dual victories against Minot State and UMary last weekend. The Vikings are undefeated in conference dual-action and are looking to remain atop the NSIC.

Seven wrestlers saw victories on Saturday at Minot State and eight were victorious against their UMary opponents on Sunday afternoon.

Jaxson Rohman, competing at 125 pounds, holds a spot at No. 4 in the latest individual rankings. Rohman defeated Jaden Verhagen of UMary on Sunday and holds a record of 12-2 on the season. In the central region rankings, Rohman is ranked at No. 2.

Jack Huffman is ranked at No. 6 at 133 pounds for the Vikings. Huffman earned NSIC Wrestler of the Week honors for wins over Minot State’s Brandon Meikel by fall at 1:37 and UMary’s Reece Barnhardt by 4-3 decision. Regionally, Huffman is ranked at No. 3.

In the seventh spot at 174 pounds is Cade Mueller. Mueller holds an overall record of 14-2 after going 2-0 last weekend against Minot State and UMary opponents. Mueller is regionally ranked at four.

Kolby Kost, competing at 184 pounds, comes in at the 12th spot in the national rankings. Kost picked up two wins last weekend and holds a 17-6 overall record. Kost’s regional ranking sees him in the fourth spot.

At 285 pounds, Steven Hajas is ranked at No. 8. Hajas defeated Gerardo Jaime of UMary on Saturday. He also holds the second spot in the central region rankings.

Five wrestlers are regionally ranked for Augustana with No. 4 Brandon Carroll at 141 pounds, No. 5 Keaten Schorr at 149 pounds, No. 5 Tyler Wagener at 157 pounds, No. 4 Miles Fitzgerald at 165 pounds, and No. 5 Daniel Bishop at 197 pounds.
